What Documents are Required?
- Confirmation of Acceptance: You should receive a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS). You are required to apply for your visa within six months after receiving your CAS.
- Proof of Funding: You should be able to prove that you have enough funds to pay for your course tuition fees and monthly living costs whilst you will be studying in the UK.
- £1,265 per month for courses in London
- £1,015 per month for courses outside London
- Evidence of consent: This is required from your parents but only if you are a minor.
- You are also required to possess enough proficiency in the English language. This is judged through a test that measures your fluency versus the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) scale.

Why did You Select the UK for Your Higher Education?
To answer this question, you need to highlight the advantages of choosing a particular program in the UK compared to other available options. You should also be able to share how this decision is going to boost your career in terms of studies and what you aim to achieve after the completion of the program.
Why did You Choose This College or University?
To answer this question, ensure that you are well aware of all the benefits which that particular college or university offers. Highlight those benefits which have influenced you to join that particular college or university.
Who Will be Covering Your Expenses in the UK?
If you are taking a student’s loan, you should mention the details; however, if your family is covering your study and travel expenses, you should not hesitate to mention it. Depending on whether your expenses will be covered by your parents or a bank, you should provide proof of sufficient funds available to cover your expenses in the UK.
Have You Been to the UK before?
If you have visited the UK before, explain the purpose and the duration of your stay, travel etc.
If you haven’t visited the UK before, just answer no.
What is Your Educational Background in Your Country?
In this answer, you are required to mention your college/university and the course/program that you have completed in your country. You can also explain the reason for your decision based on your past studies and future plans.
What is the Occupation of Your Parents?
You are required to mention details of your parent’s occupation and also provide additional details like their annual income.
Are You Willing to Work in the UK?
If your student visa permits you to work while studying, you can inform the authorities that you will be working. However, if you are not allowed to work in the UK, simply answer no.
Are You Going to be Travelling With Someone You Know or Alone?
As per your situation, mention how you will be travelling.
Do You have Any Relatives or Friends Living in the UK?
If yes, mention how long you have known that friend or your relationship with your relatives.
At What Location You Will be Staying in the UK?
Mention your address of stay as per the visa application process.
The Officer may ask other questions to assess your application further. Ensure that you emphasise your intention of coming back to your country as soon as the course/program is completed. Once you reach the Embassy, you will need to go through security checks before you can appear for the visa interview.
